Fire Road Work Complete

Work on Irving Fire Road in Terra Linda/Sleepy Hollow Preserve is complete. The fire road is open to visitors.

Project Description

The Marin County Open Space District (MCOSD) collaborates with Marin County Fire on an ongoing basis to set priorities for open space fire road projects. The Irving Fire Road work consisted of installing reverse grade dips, drainage ditches, and three culvert pipes to prevent erosion and improve road function.

Objectives

  • Improve 1,500 linear feet of emergency access fire road.
  • Upgrade drainage crossings.
  • Reduce trail erosion and sedimentation into the watershed.
  • Enhance visitor safety.
